BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS
OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE

Over 100 Years of Youth Mentoring

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been making a positive difference in the lives of children in need and assisting them in achieving their highest potential by facilitating a professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationship with a committed volunteer. In essence, Big Brothers Big Sisters is playing a key role in the “community succession plan” for Middle Tennessee.

“The dollars raised go a long way towards improving the life of children in Williamson County and the surrounding area in need of a mentor – and we are so thankful for everyone’s efforts.”

– Lowell Perry, Jr.,
CEO of Big Brothers
Big Sisters of
Middle Tennessee

Last year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee served over 1,800 children with a positive adult role model in their lives. Studies show that children with a mentor are more likely to graduate from high school, are less likely to be involved in drugs and violence, and have improved attitudes and self-confidence. These positive effects lead to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities.

It costs society more than $2 million for a youth who drops out of high school and follows a life of crime. Each child served through Big Brothers Big Sisters one-to-one youth mentoring costs an average of $1,000 annually. We simply cannot afford not to invest in our children.

The administrative offices for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee can be reached at One Vantage Way, Suite C250, Nashville, TN 37228, by calling (615) 329-9191, by visiting www.bbbsmt.org or by emailing info@bbbsmt.org.
