King and Queen of the Vines
Each fall for the past eight years, inside the walls of the beautiful Factory at Franklin, the Franklin Wine Festival Grand Tasting is held on behalf of the children of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event hosts more than 300 wines from around the world, 30 culinary samplings from Middle Tennessee area restaurants and caterers, an exciting live and silent auction, live entertainment on two stages - this event is a virtual city unto itself for the night. |

Would you care to join in the fun?
Supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters, wine enthusiasts, or folks who simply enjoy being called royalty are encouraged to apply for nomination as the Queen and King of the Vines reigning over this year's festival. Candidates will raise funds for mentoring in Middle Tennessee once their nomination is crowned, and each dollar raised in their fund-raising period will count as one vote.
Franklin Wine Festival Queen and King candidates are fun, goal-oriented extroverts who understand the importance of mentoring in a child's life and don't mind rallying all their friends to join them in the cause. There is a minimum goal of $500 in pledges and donations in support of your candidacy that is required of each potential monarch. Once this fund-raising minimum is met, the candidate's admission to the Franklin Wine Festival Grand Tasting is complimentary on October 21.
At the beginning of the live auction held for the Franklin Wine Festival, fund-raising totals announced proclaiming the Queen of the Vines and King of the Vines, complete with vine-laden tiaras and crowns.
If a Queen and King of the Vines candidate solicits a corporate sponsorship of the 2011 Franklin Wine Festival, those dollars will count towards their fund-raising totals in this contest; however, in-kind and auction donations will not be credited towards such totals.
Individual participant websites will accept pledges and donations in support of a candidate through Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 12:00 Noon, then candidates will be allowed to solicit additional donations on-site at the Grand Tasting. All fund-raising will stop by royal decree at 7:45 pm to allow the court jesters to calculate totals and preparing for the coronation.
If you know someone you think would be an ideal candidate, you may nominate them, or if you are interested in becoming a candidate yourself, look for info here soon on applying to be a candidate for the 2012 Royal Court.
If you prefer to have your company associated with this fun, new campaign and a cause marketing sponsorship of the Franklin Wine Festival, please contact Sarah Beatty with Big Brothers Big Sisters at (615) 522-5659.
Long live the King and Queen! |
